Interventions

Research findings indicate that structured literacy instruction benefits all students and is critical for those with language-based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia. Additionally, a structured approach to math instruction is essential for learners who struggle with mathematical concepts. Students thrive when they receive high-quality early intervention and instruction that is structured, comprehensive, systematic, explicit, intensive, and multisensory. In our consultancy, we have a team of highly skilled professionals who provide personalized, structured interventions and design tailored programs to support children facing various learning challenges.

    Orton Gillingham

Orton–Gillingham is a teaching method created to support struggling readers by explicitly teaching the relationship between letters and sounds. As a structured literacy approach, Orton–Gillingham breaks reading and spelling into smaller, manageable skills focused on letters and sounds, gradually building these skills over time. This approach highlights the multisensory teaching technique, which is now common in effective literacy programs. It involves engaging the senses; sight, hearing, touch, and movement to help students connect language with letters and words. Orton–Gillingham is widely used to teach students with dyslexia, and many reading programs incorporate it’s principles.

    Maths support

Math intervention programs are designed to support, develop, and strengthen students' math skills through small group and individualized instruction. Our first step is to collect and analyze data on students performance to design to targeted interventions. This ensures that each student receives effective support tailored to their needs. We also partner with schools to offer professional development workshops for teachers that focus on effective instructional strategies and math curriculum implementation. Our approach highlights the use of concrete manipulative strategies to help develop conceptual understanding. Additionally, we offer individualized support for teachers to address specific challenges in the classroom, fostering an effective mathematics education for all students.

    Wilson Reading system

Wilson® is a leading pioneer in promoting an evidence-based, structured literacy approach for reading and writing. The Wilson reading system is a program based on phonological-coding research and Orton-Gillingham principles. It is an accredited program endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). The Wilson Reading System delivers foundational, structured literacy programs for students in the elementary years and beyond the elementary grades who struggle with reading and spelling. Comprehensive Structured Literacy instruction includes lessons that encompass the following domains of language:

    • Phonemic awareness
    • Phonology
    • Morphology
    • Syntax and semantics as they relate to patterns and conventions of written language (orthography).

In the WRS, instruction in reading and reading comprehension is integrated with spelling and written expression, and lessons are taught based on sound principles of learning. Concepts are explicitly and systematically taught, in an interactive manner that is both diagnostic and mastery-driven. Additionally, instruction is cumulative so it continually provides review and immediate feedback for students as they build their knowledge.

Visualizing and Verbalizing for reading comprehension deficits

Concept and symbol imagery play a vital role in reading comprehension. Symbol imagery is the skill of visualizing letters and sounds within words, while concept imagery involves forming mental pictures of the meanings behind words and ideas. Together, these imagery skills support decoding, fluency, and understanding of text. Difficulties in either area can contribute to challenges in reading, similar to how orthographic dyslexia involves trouble recognizing visual patterns in letters and words. Strengthening both concept and symbol imagery can help improve overall reading ability. The explicit purpose of the Visualizing and Verbalizing program is to develop concept imagery which strengthens students ability to deduce main idea, draw conclusions, infer, predict and evaluate text. Developing concept imagery therefore significantly improves higher order and critical thinking skills.
